I'm sure many of you know that Coco Chanel put the first pants on girls, freeing women from the contortions of corsets and skirts, and bringing more men's styling elements into women's wardrobes. So if pants are ok for women, why not skirts for men? Does this meet the criteria of gender equality?

Non-sexism: Clothing should never be defined as men and women, is Gaultier has long advocated, he often wear skirts, to emphasize the concept of non-gender. Elements such as lace and corsets are also used in men's clothing designs.

Gaultier said: People's gender is determined by how they feel, not by the clothes they wear, because clothes are gender-neutral.

Gaultier's avant-garde and open attitude to gender comes largely from his grandmother's guidance as a child. When he was about 11 or 12, his grandmother showed him a book about Christian Dior, and it mentioned that Christian Dior was gay. At that time, he was a little confused, so his grandmother told him that boys can be with boys, you can love Romeo or you can love Juliet, it doesn't matter.

Because of this, Gaultier has brought the concept of equality in fashion design to his brand and to his daily life. Jean Paul gaultier is a brand that attaches great importance to the LGBTQ community, which can be fully reflected in the value conveyed by the brand: express yourself, be true to yourslef. Decades ago Jean Paul Gaultier's genderless fashion was known by many as "awkward," but today we're becoming more tolerant of gender differences.

People can't decide their gender, but the pursuit of beauty should be diverse. The attitude of the fashion circle is not defined by the frame, and everyone has the right to pursue love and show their true self. And such an attitude is becoming more and more relaxed.

The "rainbow economy" trend of recent years is proof what Jean Paul Gaultier has been doing for decades was right, which is a testament to his brand's foresight.

In the complex perfume market, big brands are constantly updating their products, while new brands are emerging, and competition is becoming more and more intense. What kind of brand image does Jean Paul Gaultier have in the eyes of consumers? We spoke to 3 fashion insiders about their views on Jean Paul Gaultier

Yoann C(stylist)

Jean Paul Gaultier is brand that i Know since I was a child, it’s always been "there ", in tv, magazines ect. It’s a very well known brand. What i like about Jean Paul Gaultier is that it always brings me surprise. I’ve never seen any design like this before, it proposes avant-garde silhouette, very extravagant. Jean Paul Gaultie was very visionnary cause he is the one who start to let men wear skirt.

I really like the design of its perfume bottle, it’s the first brand to use human’s body as a symbol, the smell of “le male” is very unique. However, this brand can be seen everywhere in Sephora around the world. It is too popular for me, which may not be suitable for consumers who pursue uniqueness. I prefer a little niche perfume, that would be less possibility to have the same smell with others

Jiaqi Z (Tory Burch staff)

I don't know much about the ready-to-wear collection of this brand and it doesn't feel like it's my style. But I do use Jean Paul Gaultier's perfume. To me, its perfume is more suitable for boys, just boys, not men. In terms of smell, it's very neutral and can be used by both men and women. But its perfume bottles are very gender-specific, women's perfume uses female thighs, female body elements, men's perfume design is naked men. It's fun for me.

In my eyes, the brand has always had a kind of irreverent, free-spirited,sometimes full of desire. The message the brand wants to convey seems very elusive, but at the same time, I feel that the brand actually has been always delivering the same value: respect for diversity. It's an both strange and amazing feeling, I don't know how to express.

Rui Z (Model)

I recently did a shoot with Jean Paul Gaultier's new team. As far as I know the tonality of the brand has been slowly moving towards a very dramatic style. The photographer I cooperated with this time has worked with Alexaner Wang before. Her style is exaggerated and crazy.I think crazy is what Jean Paul Gaultier has always been, but now Jean Paul Gaultier slowly began to transition to younger.

I deliberately observed Jean Paul Gaultier's Instagram before shooting, and their post gave me a feeling of drama, full of new retro feeling. You can feel that they are constantly trying to recreate the brand's distinctive sailor elements, while at the same time paying homage to the classic, trying to make something that is close to young people.

What's that perfume that you wear?

British people like to use the verb "to wear" to describe women with fragrance, as if the smell has become a kind of clothing that can be worn, and the perfume itself has a more personal privacy, and its fragrance will be based on the location of your spray The body temperature is constantly changing, and no pretty clothes can match its richness. Just like a woman full of stories, you can "wear" on what kind of fragrance you decide to tell.

If you do not know what to wear, you should wear a kind of fragrance.

Can’t wait to choose JO MALONE to put on-

Open the closet-

Red roses

The founder of the brand, Ms. Jo Malone, once said: "Rose is special, no matter where you are in the world, when someone gives you a rose, it will bring you a beautiful feeling."

A woman’s love enlightenment started with a red rose, and Jo Malone’s enlightenment probably also started with this bottle of red rose perfume.

If people use one word to describe jo Malone’s Red Roses, it almost all of them will say "pure". Because many brands have tried to reproduce the taste of roses, but they are artificial imaginations of excessive charm and excessive sweetness. There is no perfume like this bottle of Red Roses, which truthfully and purely records the naturalness of the rose itself. The taste, it is no wonder that Princess Diana, who is picky about fragrance, is its supporter.

“Wear” red roses, it was fresh roses at first, with a faint rose scent mixed with dew, full of natural scents; then the herbal scent, the violet leaves are transformed into a more delicate fragrance; finally, the aftertaste that makes people feel reluctant to give up , Like the aftertaste of walking through the rose bushes.

Wild bluebell

Seeing this name, I feel dreamy, just like the smell of summer forest mixed with a variety of fresh green plants. The fragrance is natural but amazing.

As my first bottle of JO MALONE perfume, I especially like to use it in summer. I have to say that most of his drinks are different in sweet notes. His top note is a little watermelon fragrance, which is completely in line with my favorite natural fruit fragrance law. The middle notes are floral scents of jasmine and lily of the valley, which is a kind of coldness, like a stubborn and rebellious girl. Finally, it ends with a musk base note. The overall fragrance does not last long, about 2-3 hours, which is a perfect ending.

English pear and freesia

JO MALONE launched this perfume in 2010 and became a hit.

This is one of Jo Malone's most popular perfumes in Asia, inspired by the poem "Ode to Autumn" by the British poet Keats. Its scent is based on the sweetness of pears, with a soft floral fragrance of freesia. Wear it , as if you are in the depths of the pear grove. The breeze blew across the cheeks, leaving a faint fragrance of branches and leaves.

Its scent is not sweet. When used for the first time, there is a fragrance of soap mixed with alcohol. Just like a girl standing in the freesia waiting for her lover to return, it is a touch of soap and warm breath, mixed with fresh freesia. For this reason, some people may think that it is the most suitable perfume for dating, but when it touches the skin, it is a fragrance that lovers cannot resist.

The main ingredients of this perfume include pear, freesia, patchouli, amber and white musk, which are more vibrant than blue campanula.

However.

There are not just three typical and durable clothes in JO MALONE’S wardrobe, you can even mix them to use. When Freesia meets blue wind chimes, the combination of different fragrances is surprisingly refreshing.

JO MALONE’S future perfume diary needs your filling.
